2026 PWS Training Weekends
For 7 years the PWS has held an annual Training Weekend at TA Field Estates ‘Wyvern Station’, Carrathool. The event was established to encourage, educate, and mentor more young people with practical training and professional development relevant to the Sheep Industry. The event continues to have a high level of demand with waiting lists and an impressive array of passionate young people from across the major sheep producing areas of Australia. While the individual attendee gains a lot from the weekend, the benefits also flow through to their employer and the wider Sheep industry.
In 2025 we furthered our commitment to young people in our industry, by hosting two Training Weekends, taking the Training Weekend to Jimenbuen on the Monaro. This allowed the PWS the opportunity to help 60 of the next generation of Sheep Industry leaders, gain a better understanding of the industry, improve their skill sets and increase their professional networks.
In 2026 we are taking on another new challenge. We’re excited to announce we will be going to yet another new area of Australia, the New England, with the goal of extending the reach of the program to a greater number of young people in the industry.
